Community Health Centers of South Central Texas, Inc. is currently seeking a Phlebotomist for our Luling Community Health Center location.

Phlebotomist Certification a Requirement

Primary duties will be:

· Handling Referrals to different specialist;

· Confirming purpose of visit (chief complaint);

· Prepares patient accordingly for examination based on purpose of visit;

· Recording patient summary and including vital signs (Blood Pressure, Pulse, Weight, Height, Temperature, Pain Level and 02%);

· Verifies patient information and updates medical history, appropriate screenings for age, allergies and medications;

· Following up with patients; and

· Ability to take delegated orders from physicians (providers) and complete them efficiently in a timely manner.

· Need to have medical knowledge and understanding of DX. Must be able to multi task, professional phone etiquette, dependable and great bed-side manner.

Phlebotomist is responsible for but not limited to the following.

  • Correctly identifies the patient using two forms of ID prior to sample collection.
  • Collects the appropriate amount of blood by venipuncture or dermal puncture.
  • Selects the correct containers for specified tests.
  • Labels each specimen with correct and required information.
  • Ensures timely transportation of specimens.
  • Processes specimens for transport to outside labs.
  • Maintains records for accuracy.

Complies with all safety regulations.

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Phlebotomy: 1 year (Required)
  • Medical Assistant: 1 year (Required)

Language:

  • Spanish (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
