Midwest Sterilization Corporation in Jackson, MO is immediately hiring an IT and Software Engineering Manager to join our team!

We’re seeking an experienced IT and Software Engineering Manager who can utilize his or her technological skills to make us more efficient. With this position you will oversee all IT Technicians/Software Engineers/Control Engineers (Control Engineers work to maintain and design Programmable Logic Controllers and systems).

Objectives of the IT Manager Role

• Maintain essential IT/Networking/Software Engineering/Programmable Logic Controller operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, PLCs, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
• Design new software applications, guiding various teams to achieve project completion
• Oversee Programmable Logic Controller maintenance and new designs and communicate projects with management
• Oversee projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
• Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
• Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
• Oversee Software Engineers/IT Technicians/Control Engineers (Programmable Logic Controller Engineers)

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities of the IT Manager Role

• Develop and maintain custom and off-the-shelf software applications and systems
• Analyze department needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency and accuracy to inform business decisions
• Ensure network components meet needs and work together seamlessly, using the full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitive solutions
• Continuously analyze current process, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement
• Train employees on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed
• Develop and execute disaster procedures, and maintain data backups

Skills and Qualifications of the IT Manager Role

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science, or related field
• 5+ years experience in IT management
• 5+ years experience in programming
• Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems (Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and other Windows-based systems), current equipment and technologies, and system performance monitoring
• Expertise with implementing, configuring, and testing solutions

Prgoramming languages: VB, C#, SQL, JavaScript
