Spotter/Yard Switcher are required to perform all yard management services in accordance with the best standards of the transportation industry and in compliance with FHI policies and procedures.

This is a local position. No travel!

Job Functions:

Move trailers on property as directed by customer personnel or systems
Verify seals and perform any load status yard checks as required by facility
Perform trailer safety checks including, but not limited to, sliding tandem axles (if required).
Red Tag trailers if needed.
Must obey any and all applicable traffic laws while conducting its operations on behalf of the customer.
Will obey all facility traffic and safety rules as required by specific facilities
Adhere here to appropriate training records and sign off procedures as required by each facility
Participate in continuous improvement processes
Maintain an effective Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) schedule for equipment.

Qualifications:

Ability to read, write and speak English
Basic math skills
Steel toed safety shoes are required
Expected to work productively and safely
Combination equipment and backing experience
You must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
Previous switching experience a plus
Safe driving record; No DUI, DWI, or impaired driving in the last 7 years, No more than 3 points on driving record at time of hire
Must possess a current driver's license
Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
