*Job Summary:*
Chloeta is a global provider of emergency management and environmental consulting services. This position will be responsible for running ongoing operations of the Geographic Information System (GIS) program to a high standard of quality, customer satisfaction and productivity. These responsibilities include creating specialized data sets, reports, maps, graphics, and other requested materials by analyzing data using GIS systems and processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position serves as primary supervisor to a team of direct reports.

Job Classification: Permanent Full Time
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages assigned GIS project team and/or department data, ensuring the team meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements.
  • Serves as the primary point person for GIS related tasks.
  • Manages the development of GIS systems and process to ensure that established schedules and budgets are met.
  • Fields GIS related questions and assists with customer required process reviews.
  • Works with a variety of spatial data types (raster and vector) from multiple sources and in a variety of formats, such as services, GDBs, and shapefiles.
  • Creates maps and digital products, meeting department timelines and priorities.
  • Designs, develops, and prepares graphic representations of GIS data using GIS hardware or software applications.
  • Analyzes GIS data to identify spatial relationships and display results of analyses using maps, graphs, or tabular data.
  • Uses advanced spatial analysis, data manipulation, or cartography software to perform geospatial data building, modeling, or analysis.
  • Maintains and, as needed, modifies existing GIS databases.
  • Enters data into GIS database using various techniques including coordinate geometry, keyboard entry of tabular data, manually digitizing maps, scanning or automatic conversion to vectors, or conversion of other sources of digital data.
  • Reviews the currency, accuracy, usefulness, quality, and completeness of documentation of existing or incoming data.
  • Designs, or coordinates the development of, integrated GIS spatial and non-spatial databases.
  • Chooses cartographic elements necessary for effective presentation of information.
  • Provides users or clients with technical support and training related to the maintenance, development, or operation of GIS databases, equipment, or applications.
  • Interprets aerial photos or orthophotos.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic ESRI ArcGIS Pro software skills
  • Basic knowledge of geographically referenced data required (projections, datum, map scales, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed as well as be an effective team leader
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments successfully
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and perform tasks with a high degree of efficiency, accuracy, and quality
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with clients and internal team members

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelors degree in GIS or related field and 5+ years of GIS experience.
  • Preferred: Masters degree in GIS or related field and 10+ years of GIS experience. Supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary: $85,000-100,000 annually

Pre-employment Requirements:

To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing at the beginning of employment, as well as after commencement of employment where there is reasonable suspicion of intoxication, or following an automobile or other accident, or as part of a company or facility-wide random drug screen process. Please be advised that this position is considered “safety-sensitive” for purposes of Chloeta’s drug and alcohol testing policy, pursuant to Oklahoma Statutes title 63, section 427.8(K).
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA):
Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.
Emergency Response:
Every Chloeta employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official Duty Station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official Position Description (PD). Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
