Job Description :

Certor Sports is seeking a Product / Lifecycle Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical support of projects related to product maintenance and quality control, plus be an integral part of the product life cycle from napkin sketch concept to production product.

Our small and prolific team develops 20 plus products and is responsible for the sustaining lifecycle and quality of our current products. The successful candidate will need to gain a solid technical understanding of our engineered products and best practices. They will be an active participant in the product design, quality control, and testing.

Bring your engineering degree, experience with full product lifecycle from early design to production, a desire to learn and expand your knowledge. This includes applying and testing your engineering skills, collaborating and listening to team members, learning from mistakes, and even leading when needed. A passion for developing and improving products, and the ability understand data, details, and the importance of clear and comprehensive project documentation are necessary qualities to be successful.

Strong communication skills are equally important as you work with cross-functional groups, team members, and suppliers, QA, customer service, and sales. Using these skills and a hands-on approach, you will focus heavily on design changes prompted by on-field performance feedback, quality control, or manufacturing challenges. to bring the best products to our customers.

Certor Sports has some of the most iconic performance and sports brands in the country. Our innovative and cutting edge head-to-toe protective equipment is used for football, baseball, and softball as we protect everyone from the Pee-wees to the Pros.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Gain a solid technical understanding of our engineered products and how they are produced.
  • Learn about the company’s best practices for product design, quality control, and testing.
  • Understand our component supply chain while developing a working relationship with supplier contacts.
  • Work with key cross-functional groups and team members to coordinate and communicate project information.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional groups, including suppliers to communicate project technical details and make decisions as a group.
  • This may happen in-person, virtually, or via email.
  • Complete Individual engineering work on product designs, QC procedures, test methods, and project documentation.
  • Create and maintain clear and comprehensive end-to-end project documentation.
  • Hands-on testing/troubleshooting of part or assembly issues, often in the test lab.
  • Gemba walks on the factory floor evaluating parts or assembly processes.
  • Provide technical support and creation of QC test methods both internal and external vendors.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product development, manufacturing, suppliers, quality assurance, customer service, and sales.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Hands-on manufacturing, hardgoods product development, or design experience as an Engineer is preferred.
  • The desire to become more, by pushing your knowledge & skills, then learning from your mistakes as well as from your leaders and peers.
  • Experienced in CAD modeling, preferably Solidworks platform.
  • Experience with FEA analysis, injection molding is beneficial.
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to Asia 1-2 times a year.
