Lake County is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Information Technology Coordinator. This is a full time position with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, short term disability and life insurance; a retirement plan with a generous County contribution; as well as paid time off and paid holidays.
Under the direction of the County Administrator, the IT Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions, including the Court’s IBM AS400 Mainframe, local area network (LAN), telephone system, cloud and on-site back-ups, responding to service tickets, ensuring system security, and restoring files as needed. Prepares system documentation and provides hardware and software support to County users. Provides technical support and service functions to ensure the operation of the County’s personal computers and related peripheral devices. Installs and/or removes computer equipment, software, and client network software; troubleshooting and repair of computer hardware. Provides support to various departments and users by troubleshooting equipment and software problems. Coordinates computer and related communication services with outside vendors. Provides leadership and direction to vendors, contractors, interns, and other IT staff members.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a Business and Technology related field is preferred.
Experience: Two years of practical experience in computer or electronic repair, troubleshooting, installation and/or servicing. Prefer three years of Information Technology Administration, Computer Networking, or Systems Administration.
Any or all of the above may be substituted for commensurate experience and/or education or a combination thereof.
