Job Description

The right candidate for this job has a lot of energy and loves to interact with, engage and teach small children. Critical thinking and flexibility are your key strengths. Minimum requirements of position:

· Must be 18 years or older.

· HS diploma of GED

· Must pass a criminal background check

· CPR certified (if not currently certified must obtain within 30-days of hire)

Job Responsibilities

· Complete all required trainings within the first 90 days

· Effectively manage a classroom

· Demonstrate patience and emotional composure when dealing with conflict/ difficult situations

· Demonstrate physical stamina to actively engage with the children 8-9 hours out of the day

· Document each child’s progress and provide accurate daily reports for parents.

· Effectively organize and maintain classroom and class records

· Plan and implement daily developmentally appropriate curriculum for children

· Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for daily outdoor experiences.

· Interact positively with parents daily by maintaining open and cooperative two-way communication either face-to-face or electronically.

· Actively participate in regular center meetings, meet with parents, staff and administration

· Attend in-service and staff development training programs

· Actively pursue and complete annual training requirements

· Develop an understanding of Texas state licensing requirements
