Northwest Tax Advisors LLC is a growing tax and advisory practice located in Mercer Island, WA that specializes in tax compliance, tax planning, and strategic consulting for businesses and individuals, while also providing accounting, payroll, and other professional services. We are seeking an experienced tax professional and leader to join our team.

An ideal candidate will have advanced technical knowledge of income tax and various tax concepts and strategies for our core clientele*, strong communication and analytical skills, enjoy working with both clients and managing staff, the ability to consistently meet deadlines, and takes ownership and accountability in assignments.

*Our client base is made up primarily of solo and family owned businesses in real estate or professional services with revenues between $500k & $10MM with individual income between $200k & $2MM.

Position requirements:
- At least 6 years relevant tax experience in public accounting
- Able to work in the US without sponsorship
- Able to work in our office for the first week for onboarding and training
- Able to work at least 1 day per week thereafter

Primary responsibilities include:

• Manage an assigned book of business
• Improve/implement firm policies, procedures & technology
• Supervise, train, mentor, & review staff work below manager level
• Review complex individual income tax and business tax returns
• Review IRS and state taxing authority letter and notice responses
• Review state and local excise and personal property returns
• Review federal and state payroll returns
• Review client bookkeeping
• Preparation of any of the above items, as needed
• Provide answers and solutions to client questions and tax issues
• Complete year-end and other tax planning services
• Oversee and complete complex tax research projects
• Foster client relationships
• Other tasks and projects as needed
• Trust, gift, and estate knowledge a plus

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
