POSITION TITLE: Software Engineer

SCOPE OF WORK:

Systems and Software development of embedded code for a family Aviation products including Electronic Flight Displays and wireless Communications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop embedded software for avionics products
• Perform Requirements, Coding, Integration and Verification lifecycle
• Translate customer specified features/capabilities to a detailed design
• Determine the best architecture to implement features and functionality into products
• Provide estimates of effort and schedule to complete tasks, and detailed status of progress of those tasks
• Perform other tasks, as assigned by Manager

PRE‐REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• 7-15 years of related software development experience
• Knowledgeable in Software Requirements Development
• Knowledgeable in Software Development, specifically in C/C++
• Knowledgeable in System/Software Integration and Hardware/Software Integration
• Knowledgeable in Software Verification processes
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Working in a Teaming environment.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Reporting on progress of assigned tasks.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledgeable in DO178 software development processes.
• Experience with Avionic Displays, Guidance, Navigation or Control systems
• Experience in developing System and Software Requirements
• Experience in Software Testing and Verification
• System Bench Lab Testing Experience
• Knowledgable in Embedded Linux Device Drivers
• Knowledgeable in OpenGL
• Knowledgeable in Cryptography

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Correctable vision and hearing
• Ability to move through approximately 45,000 square foot building
• Light physical effort required to frequently and repetitively lift or move lightweight parts and materials
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in fast paced environment
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment
