Firmware/Hardware Engineer

Our client is seeking a Firmware/Hardware Engineer for industrial instrumentation and electronic controls. This position provides the opportunity to work in both firmware and hardware development of embedded systems, precision analog circuits, wireless communications, advanced signal processing and more. As part of Nederman – The Clean Air Company the chosen candidate will help shape the future of clean air for industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop low level drivers and higher-level firmware for microcontrollers using c language
  • Debug firmware issues and develop solutions
  • Design and prototype robust hardware solutions to meet demanding industrial applications that include sensitive analog circuits, digital circuits, microcontrollers, and power supplies
  • Troubleshoot electronics issues to the component level
  • Develop manufacturing automated test and configuration software using C# and other programming languages.
  • Assist in all phases of engineering life cycle, including project planning, requirements analysis, design, verification, release to manufacturing and documentation.
  • Create detailed project plans, design specifications, verification procedures, test procedures, BOMs, PCB artwork files, and other manufacturing documentation
  • Manage projects and deliver them on time and within budget
  • Interface with and support internal teams and occasionally customers

Requirements

§ BSEE and 7-10 years related experience

  • Programming experience in Assembly/C/C++ for 32bit controllers/DSP's and C#
  • Programming experience in RTOS environments like FreeRTOS and TI-RTOS
  • Experience in industrial field bus communication protocols like MODBUS / CAN and protocols like USB, TCP/IP and embedded webservers
  • Proven experience with digital and analog designs and prototyping electronic circuits, including microcontrollers, analog-digital converters, analog circuits, displays and digital communication
  • Understand how to design electronics for standards and certifications (UL, cUL, CSA, CE, FCC, EMC/EMI…)
  • Experience with OrCAD and PADs layout software
  • Strong organizational, project planning/management and documentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and quality in design, execution and documentation
  • Ability and elf-motivation to learn quickly and independently and to multitask

Pay: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
