Job Description :
- Promote a safe work environment to eliminate workforce incidents/injuries.
- Maintain day-to-day operations by ensuring production requirement needs are met.
- Develop, mentor and coach Operations Leader I and operations team members with root cause analysis and problem solving capabilities.
- Manage standardized work processes; i.e. SOPs, recipes, troubleshooting guide and operating instructions.
- Support strategic improvement efforts and implement capital improvement opportunities with respect to rewinding operations, plant material flow, and material handling.
- Ensure team member’s safety and improvement efforts.
- Investigate and determine root cause of production upsets, lead projects and teams focused on root cause determination, implementation of countermeasures, and sharing of knowledge.
- Develop and improve Standard Work Procedures, provide instruction, and coach team and Leader/Mentors on standardized work.
- Enforce Company Policies and Procedures; effectively address hourly employee performance issues.
- Completes daily time and attendance functions in an accurate and timely manner.
- Support trial authors with machine troubleshooting.
- Ensure operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements, evaluating new equipment and techniques. Lead 5S, TPM and BEC initiatives and drive for continuous improvements in machine breakdown %.
- Identify and lead efforts in producing significant plant-wide results in safety, cost savings, productivity and quality improvements.
- Plan and execute maintenance down days and the tracking of their progress. Lead efforts to improve the down day process.
- Coordinates and holds Production Board Reviews daily with team members.
- Daily review with Team Leader and team member standard work audit of safety, TPM, quality, and production control boards.
- Lead key projects for manufacturing area.
- Handles personal issues on shift and resolves conflict.
- Drives and empowers team to achieve scorecard results.
- Emergency Response Team (ERT) member.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management preferred or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience (rewinding or printing experience preferred) and an advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing methodology/initiatives with proven ability to lead teams.
- Highly self-motivated, safety focused, and process driven.
- Excellent and impactful critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Strong independent decision making with minimal direction from manager.
- Actively identifies areas of focus with ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
- Continuous improvement leader who can energize and empower others.
- Sense of urgency and ability to engage people in a positive manner to move outlined initiatives forward.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
