Looking for a small town pharmacist to make an immediate impact in my community and help develop staff.

Our mission is to do more than Chain pharmacies and Mail Order does.....More Personal Service! More Care! Positively Impacting Patients’ Lives and Health. Patients often times have higher copays at an Independent pharmacy, so we must SHOW the patient why our level of service is so superior to mail order or chain pharmacy. We have to treat them as family.
Our pharmacists do more than just counsel on the proper use of medications. We provide personalized service to our patients, whether it’s teaching a patient how to test blood sugar levels or providing an annual comprehensive medication review, helping them find cheaper alternatives...We require our pharmacist have the compassion to listen and care. This is NOT a lick & stick NDC verification, computer based dispensing job! The pharmacist we are looking for MUST have great people skills and get out from behind the counter often and help our patients best navigate the complex nature of todays Health Care world.
Retail pharmacists have to work with patients, and their insurance companies, to determine coverage or figure out substitutions. Pharmacists will be called upon to keep track of the store's stock of medications and other healthcare supplies. They may place orders for additional items and restock shelves. They must be able to help direct and manage staff under them.
We are looking for a full time Pharmacist. We would like to find someone with experience in a retail setting, in particular Independent pharmacy, so they are familiar with 3rd party payers, and how to best navigate underwater claims. We currently use the RX30 pharmacy software, CSOS and Cardinal Health and average around 140rx/day.

Requirements

Pharmacist Major Responsibilities:

• Run pharmacy as owner of the pharmacy (if you are just applying for a wage, and not to help improve my business, then chances are , we would not be a match.)
• Independently managing pharmacy business as your own- (to help mitigate losses from Insurance companies, and establish positive revenue streams.)
• Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Makes recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and facility staff as appropriate.
• Maintains patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication (including over-the-counter and home remedies).
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support as needed.
• Documents all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the healthcare team and patients/residents and their family members in the medical record.
• Develop Implements policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs and biologicals, as well as disposal of drugs.
• Obtains, as necessary, and maintains all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies...maintain Controlled Substance inventory, and purchasing records , and provide them to the necessary parties.
• Informs the Pharmacist in Charge of any medication related errors.
• Directs and assists other staff and personnel with procedures relating to safe and effective methods of procuring, maintaining, administering and disposing of drugs.
• Keeping the pharmacy area clean and orderly, as well as performing other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Required: Active California pharmacist license with no prior restrictions or complaints against your license (in good standing). Must disclose any prior complaints/convictions/events (if applicable)
• Not restricted in Non-Compete with any former employer
• Professional Dress
• Outgoing personality with great public speaking skills.
