The Project Management Leader provides the vision and leadership to the project management team for Fans – Fairfield and may also manage individual projects on their own. The leader of the project management team is the last line of defense to ensure project timeline and booked margins can be achieved. This position will develop and execute strategies and plans to ensure achievement of the Division’s long and short-term financial goals through implementation of the necessary project management skills related to converting a purchase order to delivery while maintaining budget and schedule. Establish and maintain Project Management best practices and procedures.

What needs to be done?

  • Works with sales team to ensure project timeline and booked margins can be executed
  • Provides strategic and tactical guidance to project managers to ensure project margins, schedule and quality are achieved to budget.
  • Ensures the project managers attain the required level of proficiency in project management skills. 4. Establishes and drives process improvements to ensure common KPI’s, documented process change controls and skill knowledge transfer.
  • Coordinate with the Controller of OE monthly operating forecasts, which includes project margin, variance and cash flow projections.
  • Ensures monthly forecasts adhere to D365 periodic forecast review process, which includes facilitating and leading cross-functional reviews.
  • Provides professional leadership to customers and internal stakeholders during times of duress, which may include areas such as delivery, performance or quality.
  • Documents and furnishes monthly operating reports with KPI’s and other relevant materials in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all delivered projects are updated in CRM by implementing common practices within CPD. 10. Review with Legal Counsel and sales to ensure that terms and conditions are secured which meet the needs of Howden and the customer. Ensure that all employees are aware of and mutually agree to and support the Company’s position with regard to contractual terms and conditions.
  • Partners with all central functions such as Quality, Engineering, Finance, IT, and HR to ensure that enabling strategies and tactics are in place and are consistent with broader business strategies and tactics.
  • Engages with all businesses and functions to promote and sustain a continuous improvement culture within the organization.
  • Become expert in applicable processes and associated documentation relative to area of responsibility and ensure all employees receive required QMS training.
  • Ensure that appropriate reporting, financial, operational controls and KPI’s are in place to protect business interests and to provide notice of the need for redirection.

What do I need to bring?

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in project management within an engineering or heavy industrial firm.
  • Experienced in leaderships of project management and delivery of technical, highly engineered systems through EPC and AE’s to end-users.
  • Experienced in the financial aspects of project management, i.e., delivering within project margin, variance and cash flow projections
  • Knowledgeable of fabricating and assembly of heavy industrial products.
  • Proven management of subordinate project managers with span of control across multiple product lines or industries.
  • Ability to create and implement Project Management processes

Desirable

  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement environment
  • Experience working in a matrix organization where influence, indirect leadership and compelling ideas are used to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Experience working through a sales representative network.
  • Experience working with ERP, CRM and other technology tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
