Project Engineer is an entry-level position at T. W. Frierson Contractor, Inc., specifically for new graduates of college construction management programs who desire a career path in construction project management. Candidates must have completed at least two construction-related internships during college and/or have at least 6 months of work experience in a commercial construction environment. Duties include:

· Provide assistance conducting take-offs, verifying quantities, and ordering materials as directed by project management staff.

· Make phone calls or send emails to request quotes as directed by project management staff.

· Provide estimating assistance to preconstruction staff as needed.

· Learn to develop P6 construction schedules and update weekly P6 schedules as directed by project management staff.

· Assist project management staff in processing subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders.

· Assist project management staff in reviewing submittals and processing to architects/engineers.

· Review sub-contractor change orders prior to processing request for change orders to the client.

· Attend weekly sub-contractor meetings with project management staff, take notes, and send out formal meeting meetings to all applicable parties.

· Perform cost analysis on work being performed in the field.

· Perform additional assignments at supervisor’s direction.
