Job Responsibilities:

  • Will assist Program Director with operational duties and activities of the Unemployment Navigator Program in accordance with the WI DWD Unemployment Insurance Law and applicable federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Will aid in guiding and directing ways to best serve a customer, particularly a customer with language, computer literacy, disabilities, or other barriers, and ensure they are provided quality customer service.
  • Will assist in performing outreach activities by visiting businesses, collaborating with workforce boards, and participating in rapid response efforts.
  • Will assist Program Director in creating memos, notices, letters, and other forms of communique with employer groups concerning the Unemployment Insurance Navigator Program and responds to stakeholder questions received from claimants, employers, and DWD.
  • As necessary, assist in the Program Director's participation in the state, local, and regional/national conferences dealing with the administration of the Unemployment Insurance Navigator Program before interested public and private groups in the state.
  • Will assist Program Director in implementing Record keeping and Reporting system that includes electronic data collection (weekly, monthly, and annual) and data synthesis and analysis for completion of Program reports, Annual Reports, and other reporting requirements.
  • Manages office responsibilities, including purchases for offices and maintaining supply inventories and group materials.
  • Will maintain inventory of all outreach materials, outreach activities, and community presentations.
  • Assist with maintaining staff and program schedules, PTO requests, and staff absences (emails, phone messages).
  • Accurately record minutes from program meetings including that with community partners and funding sources.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and assist with preparing for onsite and/or virtual meetings.
  • Assist with responding to the Unemployment Insurance Navigator Program Phone line accordingly.
  • Job Qualifications:*
  • A minimum of an associate degree with two years' experience in office management and/or customer services. Two years of additional field experience may be substituted for one year of college. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to be proficient and have knowledge and experience with recent computer software (Microsoft Office).
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, fluent in both verbal and written form.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organization skills.
  • Must be able to travel, work irregular hours, and attend outreach events.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and adequate auto liability insurance.
