Job Description :

  • This position will be based in Pecos, Tx. or Alvin, Tx. depending on canidates perference.
  • Hybrid work-from Home may be authorized in accordance with company policies.
  • Security Industry Certifications preferred, to include: CPP, PSP, PCI or other relevant Certifications.


SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining physical security programs for the protection of facilities, assets and employees. Assists with providing direction and oversight to all physical security and business continuity programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees physical security compliance for regulatory standards applicable to all company facilities containing secured assets
  • Validates and documents evidence in accordance with all compliance standards pertaining to NERC CIP and SOX standards
  • Coordinates, administers, and supports the Security and Business Continuity programs.
  • Reviews and updates the company BC plan, Incident Management guide and other emergency plans on an annual basis.
  • Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments for all company locations
  • Administers company physical access control and video management systems and conducts regular reviews
  • Develops employee procedures, standards, and training
  • Evaluates all company physical security plans, maps, training, policies, and procedures to meet all regulatory physical security requirements
  • Performs technical reviews of physical security equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Develops Security Operations Center (SOC) staffing requirements, processes and procedures
  • Administers company access control system; creates clearances and access for all employees
  • Oversees security investigations affecting company employees and company assets.
  • Overseas the crime prevention and security awareness training for employees as well as contracted security staff

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure protection and practices under regulatory standards
  • Extensive knowledge of physical security systems
  • Ability to develop a strong working knowledge of the facilities
  • Ability to effectively handle complex emergency situations and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing customer needs while maintaining customer focus


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree with seven to 10 years of law enforcement, military police, corporate security or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Certified Protection Professional certification or relative security certifications are strongly preferred.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, policies, or processes furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to communicate to employees at all levels about company policies, procedures, and processes
  • Negotiation skills and ability to gain concessions without damaging relationships


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Ability to use and provide training on electronic security systems equipment, closed circuit television, and recording software at multiple sites
  • Working knowledge of word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to change priorities as events unfold
  • Ability to anticipate, influence, and assist the Company in changing conditions and trends (internal and external) of importance to the direction of the Company.

DECISION MAKING:

  • Identifies risk and makes sound decisions as difficult situations arise.
  • Ability to understand the physical security control of the Company and individual organizations and provides guidance to ensure proper access controls are accomplished and are consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Makes decisions regarding coordination of efforts within the Company to restore critical systems and provide facilities or supplies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand or walk up to 1/3 of the time and regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Manual dexterity is required to perform computer applications and good vision is required to perform all aspects of the job.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • May require long periods of time in interview, conference or meeting when one is required to talk and/or listen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office environment.
  • Up to 30% travel required.
