PACO Group, Inc. (PACO) is looking for Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer with a_ minimum of 10 years' experience_ for a position within the Engineering Department, Quality Assurance Division, Design Standards Unit at Port Authority Offices in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Design Standards Manager and the Assistant Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing mechanical and plumbing design documents for tenant projects at the Port Authority facilities for compliance with applicable construction codes and Port Authority technical standards. Specific responsibilities include analyzing and reviewing drawings, specifications, reports, and studies for compliance with codes and standards; coordinating the review comments from other technical disciplines and preparing memoranda for transmitting comments to the line departments; and attending meetings with tenant design consultants to discuss the review comments and resolving those issues.

The potential candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years of diverse experience in building mechanical and plumbing systems design.
• Knowledge of applicable construction codes and their reference standards in City of New York, New York State, State of New Jersey and NFPA.
• Proper understanding of engineering disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities.
• Interpersonal and effective communication skills, both oral and written, including knowledge of
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a decision-making capacity.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in State of New York and/or New Jersey is preferable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68.00 - $78.00 per hour
