JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Municipal Liquor Store Manager

Reports to: City Administrator-Clerk

Duties:

Staff Management:

  • Design and provide training, emphasizing quality customer service, legal responsibilities, and Liquor Store/City policy.
  • Scheduling, matching staffing needs to service demands.
  • Guidance and reviews.

Bartending:

  • Manager will fill in as needed and flex in busy times.

Marketing:

  • Develop sales & service strategies to increase traffic and profitability.
  • Track sales, match inventory needs.
  • Work with groups and individuals to promote events at the Municipal Liquor Store.

Procedure:

  • Maintain and monitor sanitary procedures.
  • Follow all applicable food regulations.

Purchasing:

  • Securing best pricing and purchasing practices for goods sold.
  • Supplies and services to maintain Municipal Liquor Store facility and equipment.
  • Inventory control.

Accounting:

  • Preliminary daily sales figures.
  • Work with City Hall for payment of monthly obligations.
  • Report revenue and expenses to City Hall for entry into City accounting system.
  • Produce a monthly report for City Council.

Works indoors majority of the time. Works through extended periods of standing and walking to wait on customers, stock merchandise, and set-up displays. Uses a 6’ or 8’ ladder. Performs repetitive movements, bends, crouches, pushes/pulls, twist/turns, and lifts/carries objects requiring light to moderate physical effort while receiving/stocking merchandise and waiting on customers. Lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted and must be able to work flexible hours (nights & weekends).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,500.00 - $50,000.00 per year
