Position Summary: The Lead Generation - Sales Associate will be responsible for providing qualified leads and to generate new appointments for the sales team to help them achieve company sales targets and to improve profitability. The work location for our Lead Generation - Sales Associate will be in the West End of Pittsburgh. Our Lead Generation - Sales Associate is often required to work independently.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide qualified leads and schedule appointments for the sales team to generate new business.
    • Make a minimum of 20 calls per day to prospective clients to gather security contract related information. This is necessary to determine if BKS is interested in pursuing a business relationship with the prospect’s company.
    • Schedule a minimum of 12 sales appointments per calendar month.
  • Follow up on BKS marketing campaigns.
  • Place follow up calls or e-mails after attended networking events (by self or biz dev rep).
    • Accurately maintain and update records in our CRM system (Pipe Drive). This includes recording a future date activity in the CRM for prospects when it would be appropriate to check back in.
  • Generate new prospect leads by making telephone calls to prospective clients who have responded to BKS marketing campaigns.
  • Engage and interact with new BKS prospective clients and senior level decision makers to identify new and emerging business opportunities.
  • Build effective relationships with potential clients and existing customers by use of industry standard targeted questions.
  • Speak positively and enthusiastically about BKS and its products and services to ensure that a professional company and brand image is provided to customers and colleagues.
  • Perform basic research on prospective clients to ensure that they meet BKS client objectives.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers by telephone and email. Build positive relationships with clients.
  • Deal appropriately with queries received via the telephone and / or email and provide timely written or oral responses.
  • Systems updating and reporting to include maintaining CRM system, identifying renewal opportunities, and providing management with various reports.

Additional Job Duties

  • Stay abreast of changing security industry trends.
  • Support the BKS customer service strategy of providing professional and effective services to all customers.
  • Monitor upcoming networking events that would be of benefit for our sales team to attend
  • Identify buyer portals that the company can register to get pre-approved as a vendor and added to their bidder list
  • Attend Growth Committee Meeting (frequency will vary depending on successes or failures of the Lead Generation - Sales Associate)
  • Prepare reporting packet for Growth Committee
  • Monitor how company pulls up on Google search for accuracy
  • Monitor Google Reviews and alert sales manager/supervisor to any new negative reviews
  • Make recommended changes or improvements to company web site when appropriate
  • Other duties required by management.


Required Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Required Skills / Experience

  • Minimum 12 months relevant telemarketing experience including lead generation and responding to telephone queries.
  • Take responsibility for your own personal development in line with agreed upon annual performance objectives.
  • Possess a working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and basic data entry into a CRM system.
  • Possess well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled at identifying smokescreens, overcoming the gatekeeper, identifying decision makers, and identifying and understanding objections.

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Specific telemarketing experience in the private security industry is a plus.
  • Able to post industry-specific content to company social media sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn
