Mavis Tire - Junior Accountant

Put your career into high gear with Mavis Discount Tire! We're looking for a full-time Junior Accountant to join Team Mavis at our Operations Support Center in Millwood, New York. With over 825 locations, Mavis is one of the largest independently-held tire sales and automotive repair chain in the United States.

About the Position of Junior Accountant:

As a Junior Accountant for Mavis, you will perform a wide variety of accounting and finance functions including general ledger accounting, payroll posting or related areas, accounting process improvements, control enhancements, and special projects. The incumbent will at times be required to interface with operational managers, other employees, and executives, as well as third party providers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Junior Accountant will compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital.
• Prepares periodic reports related to balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
• Audit payroll records and charges insuring accuracy and correct department charges.
• Establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
• Responsible for the proper recording and reconciliation of capital expenditures
• Analyzes bank reconciliation records and transactions for accuracy.

Job Requirements:

• College degree in accounting, CPA and SAGE 100 a plus.
• 5+ years' experience in General Ledger, Bank reconciliations, Payroll Accounting, Fixed Assets, Capital Expenditures.
• Exceptional PC literacy especially Excel.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per hour
