HR Generalist

American Hardwood Industries is looking for a Human Resource Generalist to join our team in Waynesboro, VA. The HR Generalist administers employee health, welfare, and retirement plans company wide, along with supporting the HR Manager in employee relations, hiring, and company events. This is an excellent position for someone with a human resources background looking to become the sole dedicated HR Generalist for a 300-employee manufacturer in Virginia!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide support and guidance to the management team in all areas of Human Resources to ensure compliance in all areas of hiring, employee relations, and employee benefits.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
• Maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to track areas of human resources and safety performance
• Oversee investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations to ensure fair and equitable outcomes

HR Generalist Requirements:

• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the workforce
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
• Thorough knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office and HRIS, Ceridian a plus
• Prior safety management experience
• Bilingual- Spanish/English preferred

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 4 years of professional experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP a plus.
