STS Technical Services is hiring Semi-Skilled Mechanics in Atlanta, Georgia.

Hiring Note: SEMI-SKILLED MECHANIC (MOTORIZED) GSE are eligible for a bonus $2,000 Bonus. Contingent Worker is to be paid a sign on bonus of $750.00 after 120 days in the position. And a balance of $1,250 at the end of the contractor role, when they convert over to FTE.

Responsibilities:

• The Ground Maintenance Technician – Motorized position must utilize appropriate equipment and material to accomplish all routine and non-routine maintenance functions on specialized equipment, and specialized parts of equipment.
• Inspects, services, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces and overhauls all ground support equipment and components including the following: truck chassis, body and drive-train components on a variety of equipment.
• Responsible for electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, painting, body work, and other technical work as required on all Ground Support Equipment.
• Practices safety-conscious and environmentally-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is preferred.
• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have successfully completed a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school or have a minimum three years of documented Ground Support Equipment, automotive, diesel or heavy equipment repair experience.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents, manuals and electrical and hydraulic schematics; should have a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to automotive and/or industrial powered systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including fixed or rotating shifts, both indoors and outdoors, include traveling, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check (all information provided will be verified).
• Any discrepancy will result in immediate disqualification; must also successfully pass a drug and hearing test (audiogram) in addition to successfully passing a background check.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and provide outstanding customer service.
• Must be able to read and write at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with no assistance. • Must have the ability to work without close supervisory direction and to complete the job without assignment of tasks.
• Must meet the physical requirements which include the ability to lift at least 70 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and coordinate repairs with other GMTs and outside vendors.
• Must be able to respond to customers' needs with minimum direction and perform repairs in time sensitive situations.
• Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks.
• Must capture labor hours, description of work, and parts use in maintenance tracking system
• Must provide own tools to facilitate repairs. (Minimum tool list will be provided on request).
• Specialty tools provided.
