Summary Objective:

Fit Plus is seeking a deeply passionate individual who cares about healthy living and is excited about leading a team who will impart that passion on others. Fit Plus Coaches care for hundreds of our members ages 9 to 89, in our upscale, updated, UV disinfected Fitness Studio. Through our Move Fit, Spin Fit and Live Fit programs we enrich and enable our members to reach their goals daily.

Fit Plus’ General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Fitness Studio including coaching MOVE FIT classes, assisting in LIVE FIT consulting, special event planning and, in the future, Personal Training. The primary goals of the Fitness Director are to grow membership, enhance the fitness programming and grow retail sales of Lululemon and supplements. The way the Director does this is by leading a stellar team to close on new member leads, demonstrate dynamic coaching in the Move Fit and Spin programs, drive special fitness events throughout the year, promote and encourage Live Fit consultations, showcase the Lululemon and 1st Phorm lines, and much more quarterly. Additionally, the Director is responsible for identifying facility and equipment needs, delivering typical daily member services, and utilizing member scheduling and account software. The Fitness Director executes independent judgment with minimal supervision, sets the vision for Fit Plus, collaborates with the Fit Plus Management Team, and is accountable for running the day-to-day operations of the studio. The Fitness Director reports directly to the CEO, Jack Sullivan.

Essential Functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and oversee all Fitness staff and operations including scheduling and staff recruitment
  • Establish and maintain standards & policies for class, including curating playlists for Move Fit
  • Oversee fitness equipment purchasing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Provide updated member communications, internal displays, etc.
  • Provide coverage of front desk and Move Fit / Spin Fit classes where appropriate and available
  • Design and implement new motivational challenges and fitness events for members
  • Effective and accurate organization and communication of the class schedule to members
  • Additional duties as assigned and/or requested by management

Required and Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: BA degree in Physical Education or equivalent athletics-related field
  • Minimum Experience required: 5 years in full-time Athletics or a Fitness Club, with experience in both coaching/instructing and administration/management
  • Proven success in planning, organizing, and executing profitable fitness programs for a variety of ages and abilities
  • Skills Required: Excellent verbal and written skills. Proven leadership & problem-solving abilities. Sufficient physical condition to teach a variety of group fitness classes
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn Mindbody Software for member scheduling, billing, and retail sales
  • Ability to draft professional letters, press releases, social media posts, descriptions of programming and other marketing/customer service materials

Compensation:

Fit Plus’ desire is to compensate the Fitness Director at $70,000 or more a year. The way this is achieved is through a combination of the following:

· Base Salary - $55,000

· 10% Sales commission on new Live Fit Memberships assigned to coaches

· Annual profit-sharing based on the performance of Fit Plus

· Metrics based quarterly bonuses

Additionally, Fit Plus offers a comprehensive benefits package including a stipend for continuing education, health insurance, discounts on apparel, food/beverage and supplements, and paid time off.

Relocation: Candidates outside of the Erie area are welcome to apply but if selected for an interview, they must be willing to travel at own cost. Relocation assistance is offered if hired.
