ispace Technologies, US. located in Denver Colorado is a looking for a highly motivated and talented Flight Software Lead to join its team.

5+ years of professional experience, 3+ years of experience developing flight software for space applications

Note: Two years of experience may be substituted for each advanced degree.

Key Responsibilities of Flight Software Lead

  • Lead a small, highly technical design team through development, and implementation, and maintenance of spacecraft embedded C/C++ flight-software, ground test software, and simulation software
  • Work closely with engineering management to build and maintain team schedules and budgets
  • Oversee subsystem architecture, requirements, and validation
  • Develop requirements consistent with new-space system engineering and agile development paradigms
  • Develop, select, tailor, and deploy software processes, tools and metrics
  • Establishing software development design philosophy, practices, and coding standards
  • Leading and participate in code reviews

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) of Flight Software Lead

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, Robotics or related technical field with comparable work experience
  • Proven experience with software development for embedded systems
  • Relevant experience in spacecraft and/or launch vehicle software development
  • Experience with hardware/software integration
  • Experience with software development processes including source control, bug tracking, and design documentation
  • Competent in the Linux/Unix environment
  • Experience scripting and automating complex procedures
  • Familiarity with software architecture for aerospace applications
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as AWS Gov Cloud, GitLab, JIRA, and/or Confluence
  • Capable of working in a team environment across engineering disciplines
  • Strong coordination, organization and communication abilities
  • Ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced collaborative interdisciplinary team environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) of Flight Software Lead

  • Experience leading highly technical software teams in the space industry
  • Demonstrated professional experience in launch vehicle and/or spacecraft software systems
  • Expertise in algorithms and data structures
  • Highly proficient in C/C++ (C99/C++ 11+)
  • Experience with a large, shared codebase and continuous integration and deployment workflows and tooling like GitLab CI and Docker
  • Experience with GSFC Core Flight Software (CFS) framework
  • Experience with device driver implementations
  • Software quality practices associated with organization like NASA, FAA, etc.
  • Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization and unit testing

Additional Requirements for Flight Software Lead

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced design and development environment
  • Schedule flexibility may be required depending on program development needs
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
