Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse – Approximately 16 hours/week

Excellent Schedule: Tues/Thur 8am - 5pm. NO WEEKENDS, NIGHTS OR HOLIDAYS!

The MA/LPN is responsible for supporting both the front and back office, including greeting and rooming patients, scheduling, answering phones, taking vitals, and providing additional clinical support wherever needed. Our ideal applicant will be able to communicate with the provider and patient as well as being mindful of patient confidentiality. Also, the applicant will be able to evaluate and respond to a patient’s needs and relay the doctor’s instructions. The successful MA/LPN will be a team player, respectful of their co-workers with an interest in the prevention/wellness field.
Responsibilities:

  • Front desk/reception, scheduling appointments and creating lab orders
  • Preparing, maintaining and stocking the examination and procedure rooms
  • Triage patient phone calls
  • Obtaining patient history, vitals, review of systems, charting medications and allergies
  • Complete other comparable duties as directed by the physician

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Detail oriented and self-starter
  • Ability to work independently, setting and resetting own priorities and goals to meet unit operational needs.
  • Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • High level of responsibility and work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and ongoing multi-tasking
  • Knowledge of medical recordkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of laws regarding medical confidentiality and the procedures for the release of such information.
  • Knowledge of general health care services, operations, and procedures.
  • A working knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Experience with Athenahealth EHR (preferred)
  • MS Word and Excel knowledge

Required education:

  • High School diploma
  • Medical Assistant/LPN Certification from an accredited institution
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Experience/Education

  • Certified Medical Assistant/LPN: 1-2 years
  • High school or equivalent

License:

  • Certified Medical Assistant/LPN from accredited institution

Hours per week:

  • Approximately 16 hours/week

Mobile Health Team is a private medical practice located in Neenah, WI consisting of an MD, APC, RNs, dietitian and wellness professionals. We specialize in cholesterol management and prevention of heart disease and diabetes for kids, adults and families. We take a deeper look into a patient's whole health and identify the root causes of cholesterol problems. Together, we develop an overall plan to manage cholesterol, heart disease prevention and/or pre-diabetes.
