The Steel Penny Cafe, known as the 'little gem' of Hatboro, PA located on site of Sullivan's Scrap Metals!! This Barista/Server position requires a creative mindset, friendliness, great customer service, and precise attention to sanitation. The Steel Penny Cafe is growing immensely with handcrafted beverages, Detroit Style Pizzas, hand tossed pizza, sandwiches, salads, and an extensive and unique wine and beer list.

Core Functions

• Smile and welcome customers in a courteous and friendly manner
• Answer guest questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness.
• Weigh, grind and pack coffee per customers’ orders according to Steel Penny standard guidelines
• Suggest, sell and serve baked goods and miscellaneous food items to guests
• Maintain efficient and friendly service
• Restock product and supplies when necessary
• Routinely clean the countertop area, floor, windows, grinders, ice machine, ice-cream machine and take out trash
• Assist in the ordering of supplies on a weekly basis
• Report potential safety hazards to the Chef/Manager on Duty
• Report all employee accidents to the Chef/Manager on Duty
• Inform the Chef/Manager on Duty of any operational inconsistencies
• Perform daily cash reconciliation
• Provide 1 to 1 service to all customers; from hello to goodbye
• Follow Steel Penny Cafe standards everyday
• Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the evolving products and services
• Memorize recipes for multiple specialty coffee beverages and seasonal offerings
• Maintain and operated espresso machines, blenders, commercial coffee brewers, coffee pots and other equipment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear
• Regularly required to handle food and hot beverages

Physical Demands:

• ∙ Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 35 pounds.
