AUTOMATION METROLOGY ENGINEER JOB PURPOSE:

Nikon Metrology is seeking a highly motivated Automation Metrology Engineer to roll-out automated inspection systems.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Provide expert product knowledge for metrology demonstrations.
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers.
  • Provide metrology support for automated system to sales teams.
  • Develop and document best practices on how to use Automation in an optimal way for different measurement tasks.
  • Train application engineers, sales team, resellers and integrators worldwide on the correct use of best practices.
  • Provide training directly to customers on occasion.
  • Provide Integrator Support I Training.
  • Advise as part of the sales process, NM sales and integrators on optimal test cell layout and system measurement performance.
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues and help field engineers with the successful system pass-off.
  • Provide HelpDesk support when needed.
  • Provide high quality demonstrations and benchmarking and presentations to support the sales process.
  • create part programs and /or inspect parts for customers.
  • Provide direct and indirect support for customers.
  • Help close sales opportunities through final presented solution.
  • Assist in trade show preparation, demonstration and support.
  • Prepare customer product requirements review and gap analysis.
  • Coordinate delivery of customer samples for qualification.
  • Ability to coordinate activities within multiple departments to assist the customer.
  • Assist Sales Managers in technical areas, presentations to customers, systems and tooling recommendations.
  • Assist in determining bid strategy.
  • Participate in product/process evaluations and market introduction of new products.
  • Responsible for proper packaging and efficient shipment of demonstration equipment if needed.
  • REsponsible for planning demonstration logistics and if required maintaining.
  • Recommended shipment lead time of 2+ weeks.
  • Key focus on automation metrology and working with automation team for best demonstrations.

ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Capable of developing programs in Laser Radar Measure software.
  • Capable of using LR toolkit.
  • Some robotic programming knowledge.
  • Assist in distribution pertinent technical information to all sales personnel.
  • Upkeep of demonstration equipment and center(s).
  • Abide by applicable standards and specification alignment and compliance (ISO, ANSI)
  • Log/track customer communications in CRM (SFDC).
  • Keep Engineering Manager updated on equipment condition and status.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in metrology.
  • Demonstrate the use of inspection software.
  • Strong knowledge/experience of PolyWorks and other software tools are mandatory.
  • Experience/knowledge of Large Volume Measuring.
  • Capable of developing programs in Laser Radar Measure software.
  • Capable of using LR toolkit.
  • Experience with Dimensional metrology.
  • Automotive or aerospace industry in-line inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of various hardware and software products.

DESIRABLE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
  • Computer programming experience.
  • Robotic programming experience.
  • Familiarity of software tools and computers.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 50% domestic travel (occasional international travel)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
