Position Summary: Responsible for using technology to improve, streamline and automate manufacturing to reduce the need for human intervention and maximize efficiency. Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring such technology using skills with electrical and mechanical ability.
Preferred Education and Experience:
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar field
· Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment
· Experience with robotics, AI and machine learning
· Experience with project management
· Solid understanding of computer programming and software development
· Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests
· Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Creative thinking skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong analytical skills
· Ability to communicate well with other members of the development team
· Excellent manual dexterity
· Ability to keep up with the latest technologies
· A desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge
· High level of competency in Microsoft Products; i.e. Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
· Exploring and implementing new ways to automate systems
· Designing and testing automation equipment and processes
· Programming new automated components
· Identifying quality issues and writing reports
· Identifying quality issues and eliminating defects and errors with product using automated processes
· Collaborating with other departments
· Identify opportunities to reduce the labor required for a manufacturing process
· Implement automation within the manufacturing process’s
· Write, modify and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic (GE or Allen Bradley preffered)
· Write, modify and troublshoot industrial robot programming
· Design of fixtures and/or equipment
· Fabrication of assembly equipment and fixtures
· Concentration on improvement of existing equipment
· Support of production floor modifications driven from launch activities
· Responsible for technical and/or production support when necessary
· Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as assigned by the supervisor.
