Position Purpose: The Supervisor oversees all accounting activities: including accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting/analysis. The Accounting Supervisor also manages their company’s financial and administrative functions in a manner consistent with generally accepted accounting principles. This position will report to the Vice President of Administration.
Responsibility overview (not limited to):
· Lead all aspects of financial analysis for the sites - design and development models that can help to drive change and improvement in product costs.
· Lead a variety of tasks including analyzing operational changes, reconciling productivity, and assisting in capital management projects and processes.
· Oversee plant monthly closing processes and prepare manufacturing variance forecasts.
· Manage and Execute Annual Budget and all associated activities for the plant.
· Create and maintain a strong, cost-effective Controls environment ensuring compliance with SEC, US GAAP, accounting and reporting regulations, and company accounting policies and procedures.
· Review products, processes, and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
· Conduct and coordinate audits to include state, parish, internal and external.
· Prepare and file state & parish sales and use tax, Ohio CAT and property tax.
· Assist with monthly & annual inventory.
· Oversee and distribute timely business 1099s.
· Oversee the management of AP, AR, Daily Cash, Business Line of Credit.
· Supervisor accounting department team.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
· Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ Accounting or financial management experience in progressively responsible positions within multi-unit/cultural manufacturing. organizations; a demonstrated track record of accountability and achievement.
· Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
· Knowledge of SAP required.
· Knowledge of Tax & Audit process for State, Parish, Property, Commercial Activity Tax, 1099s required.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP.
· Knowledge of J-GAAP helpful.
· Knowledge of Stampli a plus.
· Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and employee motivation abilities.
· Must have excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
· Manufacturing industry experience a plus.
· Proficient in Microsoft products, database software and other applicable accounting and financial software and systems.
